Ron Dekker, D.Phil.
Ron is interested in how humans learn. Contrary to most psychological experiments, in the real world, we do not learn simple, artificial stimuli from scratch. Instead, we receive complex, multidimensional inputs, which we relate to previous experience through comprehensive priors. He investigates how these properties affect the learning process. In addition, he is interested in finding out what makes certain learning schedules more effective than others, and in comparing human learning with machine learning algorithms.
